It is widely known that acne is caused by an excess of oil on the skin. When this excess of oil occurs on the skin surface, it begins to gather dirt and other materials that have the potential to clog the pores in a way that can cause acne. For some people, acne becomes an extremely embarrassing problem, and they are desperate to find a solution. However, in order to get rid of these pesky little pimples, it is best to know what causes them.

The cause of acne is thought to be a buildup of the follicles, which is where most of the oil is produced by the sebaceous glands. In some cases, the sebaceous glands to produce more oil than is needed. This excess amount leads to the follicles becoming clogged with waste products. A buildup of these substances can cause your sebaceous glands to be filled with material that will eventually cause the blackheads to appear. So, the problem isn’t the oil, but the accumulation of it that causes the clogging.

Your sebaceous glands produce oil in response to stress or any other conditions, including dry skin, sun, wind, and even stress from playing sports or having anxiety. In many cases, the oil that is produced by the glands is very moisturizing and softens the skin around the face. However, there are many times when these oils to become trapped within the pores, causing inflammation and swelling in the affected area.

Oil is an essential part of the skin, but because it is also extremely sticky, the oil itself is not very effective in keeping the pores clean. The buildup of dirt and other materials that clog the pores is then what allows the oil to seep into the follicles and create an excessive amount of inflammation. This causes the oil and other material to begin to come out of the pore, thus creating the acne and blackheads that people often try to get rid of.

If you have oil on your face, you will notice that it tends to stay on the surface of the skin for a while, or even for several weeks. The reason for this is that the sebum is a sticky, oil-like substance that coats the skin. After this period of time, the oil dries out and the skin naturally begins to cleanse itself from the inside out.

Another common condition that causes large pores is infection. For instance, if you have an infection of the mouth, nose, or throat, it can lead to the pores becoming so much larger than they need to be. There is not enough sebum to moisturize these areas, so the increased presence of oil creates a moisture barrier that can irritate the surrounding tissue.

There are many factors that can cause acne to occur, and one of the biggest causes of large pores is hormonal changes. For example, most teenagers get acne during puberty. As puberty advances, the hormone levels of both boys and girls go through a series of changes. During these changes, the oils produced by the glands tend to become less lubricating, and thus cause more of the same buildup that can cause acne.

There are some instances, however, where the hormonal changes do not cause the glands to become overactive. They may simply just be reacting in a normal way to the normal changes that occur during puberty. As a result, your pimples may still occur. You could have them for a long time, but as your body begins to heal itself, the glands will stop producing the oil that is responsible for the problem.

Acne can also occur due to genetics. Many people inherit certain problems from their parents that can cause them to produce extra oil in the body. In some cases, the glands may produce even more oil than normal, which causes more blockage of the pores and creates the oil.

Oils also travel along blood vessels that are present on the surface of the skin. These can cause blackheads because the excess oil that is being moved along the capillaries can make its way deeper into the layers of the skin. However, this is not always the case.

Living a healthy and good diet is one of the best ways to keep your body and skin healthy. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of water will keep your body in optimal condition and can help you prevent acne and other skin problems.
